There are two types of laws governing the prohibition of drugs in the UK. The Psychoactive Substances Act receives the assent of the Royals on 28 January 2016. This act applies to the UK and will come into force on 26 May 2016.

The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971

This act mainly intends to prevent the non-medical use of various drugs. This act not only controls medical drugs but also drugs with no medical use. Offences under this act involve the general public and when the same drug and similar offence are involved, penalties are even tougher. Drugs which come under this act are known as ‘controlled’ drugs. Request a call back from our Drugs Trafficking Solicitors.
